Treasure every first curious moment together with your baby

Explore the wonderful sights, sounds, and textures of nature with your baby--right from your lap. With high-contrast illustrations designed especially for infants, So Curious helps nurture early brain growth while making storytime a joyful bonding experience.

From fluttering leaves to soft grass and singing birds, each page encourages curiosity and sensory discovery. The bold, engaging visuals are developmentally appropriate for newborns and young infants, and every image is paired with simple, affirming language.

So Curious:

  • Introduces everyday sights, smells, and textures babies encounter outside
  • Supports baby's visual and cognitive development with high-contrast, black-and-white illustrations
  • Includes a note for caregivers on the power of reading and wondering together
  • Fosters bonding and development through emotional and sensory themes

Baby's First Moments is a series of six board books featuring original high-contrast black-and-white illustrations that promote cognitive growth and emotional connection in babies while their eyes are developing. Each book features a unique theme relevant to an infant's early experiences: nature, family, home, feelings, play, and bedtime. The perfect way to support your baby's emotional development and connection to the world--and to you.

Author Biography

Emily Barton is a Minneapolis-based illustrator whose colorful, playful style brings whimsical imagination to every page. With a background in animation and design, Emily spent years creating vibrant visuals for a local animation studio before transitioning to freelance work where she continues to collaborate with clients big and small. She is a longtime contributor to Hellavision Television Network, a global animation project founded in Minneapolis, and her work is often featured in local pop-ups, art fairs, and other community-led marketplaces. Emily finds her best inspiration from sketching in bogs, going on walks with her dog, Roo, or checking out way too many children's books from her local library.
